Shaft - Steering Column - Intermediate Upper - Remove And Replace: Removal

  1. Remove the driver's side footwell cover. See Assembly - Cover - Footwell - Driver's (Remove and Replace) .
  2. Remove the nut and bolt that secure the lower intermediate shaft to the upper intermediate shaft (torque 50 N.m).
    CAUTION: Replace all Patchbolt(s).

  3. Disconnect the lower intermediate shaft from the slot in the upper intermediate shaft.
  4. Remove the bolt that secures the upper intermediate shaft to the steering column (torque 30 N.m).

  5. Release the upper intermediate shaft from the column shaft.
  6. Release the clips (x4) that secure the steering shaft seal to the bulkhead.

  7. Remove the upper intermediate shaft.
