Sensor - Occupant Classification - Front Passenger's Seat - Calibration: Procedure

  1. Set the vehicle climate control to 68 degrees F (20 degrees C).
    NOTE: The cabin temperature must be approximately 68 degrees F (20 degrees C) to properly calibrate the sensor.
  2. Set the RH 1st row seat heater to level 1.
  3. Check that the vehicle firmware is at least 2019.40.50 or later. If it is not perform a firmware update. See Firmware Update .
  4. Enable service mode. See Service Mode .
  5. Connect a laptop with Toolbox 3 to the vehicle.
  6. Make sure that the key fob is in the vehicle and that nothing is sitting on the RH 1st row seat.
  7. Depress the brake pedal and hold up on the signal stalk together for 10 seconds.
  8. In Toolbox, click the Actions/Autodiag  tab, type "OCS-CALIBRATE" in the search field, click on PROC_VCSEATP_FRONT-PASS_OCS-CALIBRATE  , and then click Run  .
  9. Allow 2 minutes for the calibration routine to complete.
    CAUTION: Make sure that there is nothing on the RH 1st row seat.
  10. Disconnect the laptop with Toolbox 3 from the vehicle.
  11. Verify that the text "PASSENGER AIRBAG OFF" is displayed in the upper right corner of the touchscreen.
  12. Disable service mode. See Service Mode .
  13. Return the seat heater and climate control to their previous settings.
