Steering Column - Remove And Replace: Installation
- Installation procedure is the reverse of removal, except for the following:CAUTION: Replace all nylon-insert locknuts.CAUTION: Replace all patchbolt(s).
- Ensure that the upper intermediate shaft to column marking aligns correctly.
- Calibrate the steering rack, using Toolbox 3:NOTE: Steering rack calibration is only required if the vehicle is equipped with a Bosch type steering rack.
- Select the Actions tab and search for "Bosch EPAS Calibration".
- Select the ODIN routine PROC_EPAS_X_CALIBRATION , and then click the link of the routine.
- Click RUN
, and allow the routine to complete.NOTE: After calibrating EPAS, drive the vehicle for a minimum of 5 minutes before returning the vehicle to the customer.
- Using Toolbox 3:
- Select the Actions tab and search for and search for "Clear Angle Offsets".
- Select the ODIN routine PROC_EPAS_ESP_CLEAR-ANGLE-OFFSETS
, and then click the link of the routine.NOTE: This ODIN routine clears the applied angle offsets in the steering rack, the drive inverter and the ESP.
- Click RUN , and allow the routine to complete.
- Using Toolbox 3:
- Select the Actions tab and search for "Calibrate Steering Column".
- Select the ODIN routine PROC_SUN_X_CALIBRATE-STEERING-COLUMN , and then click the link of the routine.
- Click RUN , and allow the routine to complete.
- Perform a Lock To Lock-Angle test. See Lock To Lock-Angle Test .
