Mount - Front Drive Unit - LH (2nd Generation) - Remove And Replace: Installation

  1. Install the LH front drive unit mount onto the front drive unit assembly by maneuvering the mount up through the subframe rails and into position.

  2. Position the clevis mount into position for installation, and then hand-tighten the bolts.

    NOTE: Maneuver the clevis mount around the steering shaft to position it for installation.
    NOTE: Might need to adjust the underhoist stand to align the mounting holes, if needed.

  3. Fully tighten the clevis mount bolts to the LH front drive unit mount (torque 50 N.m).
    CAUTION: Make sure that the mount is positioned all the way forward before tightening the bolts. Allowing the mount to be installed all the way rearward will result in NVH issues.

  4. Fully tightening the bolts (x2) that attach the clevis mount to the body (torque 65 N.m).

  5. Remove the underhoist stand from the vehicle.
  6. Install the HV battery assembly. See HV Battery (RWD/AWD) (Remove and Install) .
  7. Install the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  8. Lower the vehicle fully.
  9. Install the upper bolt that attaches the LH front drive unit mount to the front drive unit assembly (torque 38 N.m).

  10. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the 4-way valve bracket to the frame rail (torque 5 N.m).

  11. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the 4-way assembly to the bracket (torque 5 N.m).

  12. Connect the gray electrical connector to the steering rack logic.

  13. Connect the steering rack electrical connectors (x2).

  14. Install the 12V auxiliary battery bracket beam. See 12V Battery Bracket Beam (Remove and Replace) .
  15. Install the 12V auxiliary battery. See Battery - Auxiliary - 12V (Remove and Replace) .
  16. Reconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power .
  17. Install the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install) .
  18. Install the underhood storage carpet. See Carpet - Underhood Storage (Remove and Install) .
  19. Install the HEPA filter outlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace) .
  20. Install the HEPA filter inlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace) .
  21. Install the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
  22. Install the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  23. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
