VIN Locations

Model X began production with 2016 Model Year vehicles.

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is visible in the following locations:

The bottom corner of the driver's side of the windshield	Non-US vehicles: The RH sill panel	The driver's side door jamb

NOTE: When corresponding with Tesla, always include the VIN (and the drive unit serial number, if necessary).

NOTE: Remove the welcome plate Welcome Plate - LH (Remove And Replace) to access the VIN on the RH sill panel.

NOTE: If replacing any component on which a VIN is located, local regulations might require that the VIN be inscribed on the replacement component. Consult local authorities for VIN scribing requirements and, if required, the procedure for having the VIN inscribed on the new component.
