Shroud - Lower - Steering Column - Remove and Replace: Install

  1. Position the steering column lower shroud onto the steering column, and then install the lower screw that attaches the shroud to the steering column.

    1.5 N.m (1.1 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    1. Torx T20 socket
    2. in std ratchet
    3. 2 in extension
    4. Wiha TorqueVario-S 0.8 Nm - 2.0 Nm screwdriver (installation only)
      1. Torx T20 bit, 70 mm
      2. Wiha in bit holder adapter
      3. Wiha torque setter

  2. Install the upper screws that attach the steering column lower shroud to the steering column.

    1.5 N.m (1.1 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    1. Torx T20 socket
    2. in std ratchet
    3. 2 in extension
    4. Wiha TorqueVario-S 0.8 Nm - 2.0 Nm screwdriver (installation only)
      1. Torx T20 bit, 70 mm
      2. Wiha in bit holder adapter
      3. Wiha torque setter

  3. Install the clips that attach the upper shroud to the lower shroud.

  4. Install the steering wheel. See STEERING WHEEL (REMOVE AND INSTALL) .
  5. Install the driver airbag. See AIRBAG - DRIVER (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  6. Connect 12V power. See 12V/LV POWER (DISCONNECT AND CONNECT) .
  7. Install the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD APRON - REAR (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
