Air Bag - Front Passenger's - Remove And Install: Notes

NOTE: This procedure destroys the instrument panel top pad. If the passenger's air bag is not going to be reused, refer to Air Bag - Front Passenger's (Remove and Replace) to remove the air bag without damaging the instrument panel top pad, refer to AIR BAG - FRONT PASSENGER'S (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
WARNING: Make sure 12V power has been disconnected for at least 2 minutes before disconnecting electrical harnesses from SRS components (sensors, modules, airbags, etc.). Failure to do so can result in unintended safety system behaviors. For more information on SRS precautions, see Air Bag and Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) Precautions .
NOTE: In the event of an airbag or seat belt tensioner deployment, certain airbag and seat belt components must be replaced, and other components must be inspected for damage. Refer to SRS INSPECTION AND COMPONENT REPLACEMENT for a specific list of items that must be inspected and replaced.
