Mount - Front Drive Unit - LH (2nd Generation) - Remove And Replace: Removal

This procedure is for vehicles built after April 24, 2019. For vehicles built through April 24, 2019, see MOUNT - FRONT DRIVE UNIT - LH (1ST GENERATION) (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .

1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
2. Remove the LH and RH underhood aprons. See Underhood Apron - LH (Remove and Replace) .
3. Remove the front underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Front (Remove and Replace) .
4. Remove the HEPA filter inlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Inlet (Remove and Replace) .
5. Remove the HEPA filter outlet duct. See Duct - HEPA Filter - Outlet (Remove and Replace) .
6. Remove the underhood storage carpet. See Carpet - Underhood Storage (Remove and Install) .
7. Remove the underhood storage unit. See Underhood Storage Unit (Remove and Install) .
8. Disconnect 12V power. See Disconnect 12V Power .
9. Remove the 12V auxiliary battery. See Battery - Auxiliary - 12V (Remove and Replace) .
10. Remove the 12V auxiliary battery bracket beam. See 12V Battery Bracket Beam (Remove and Replace) .
11. Disconnect the steering rack electrical connectors (x2).
    NOTE: Disengage the red locking tab before disconnecting the steering rack electrical connectors.

12. Disconnect the gray electrical connector from the steering rack logic using a small flat head screwdriver.

13. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the 4-way assembly to the bracket.

14. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the 4-way valve bracket to the frame rail, and then remove the bracket from the vehicle.
    NOTE: Remove the bracket from the vehicle only while leaving the 4-way valve in the vehicle.

15. Remove the upper bolt that attaches the LH front drive unit mount to the front drive unit assembly.

16. Remove the HV battery assembly. See HV Battery (RWD/AWD) (Remove and Install) .
17. Remove the front aero shield panel. See Panel - Aero Shield - Front (Remove and Replace) .
18. Support the LH side of the front drive unit assembly using a 3/4 ton underhoist stand.

19. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the clevis mount to the LH front drive unit mount.

    NOTE: Feed the socket ratchet above the 4-way valve to access the bolts.

20. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the clevis to the body, and then remove the mount assembly from the vehicle.
    NOTE: Maneuver the mount around the steering shaft assembly to remove it from vehicle.

21. Remove the bolts (x2) that attach the LH front drive unit mount to the front drive unit assembly.

22. Remove the LH front drive unit mount from the vehicle: Maneuver the mount towards the front of the vehicle, and then remove the mount from between the front subframe rails.
