Touchscreen - Remove And Replace: Remove

  1. Remove the rear underhood apron. See UNDERHOOD APRON - REAR (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  2. Disconnect 12V power. See 12V/LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
  3. Insert a pry tool into the top center slot of the service panel, and then release the clips and tabs that attach the service panel to the instrument panel.

  4. Disconnect the cabin temperature sensor connector, and then remove the service panel from the vehicle.
  5. Remove and discard the bolts that attach the touchscreen to the instrument panel, and then slide the touchscreen toward the rear of the vehicle to remove it.
    NOTE: The vehicle may be equipped with either Torx T30 or hex 10 mm bolts.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T30 socket or 10 mm socket
    • 1/4 in std ratchet
    • 4 in extension

  6. Remove the screws that attach the center display housing to the touchscreen, and then remove the housing from the touchscreen.

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T30 socket
    • 1/4 in std ratchet
    • 1/4 in torque wrench (installation only)
    • 2 in extension

  7. Remove the retaining clip from the touchscreen electrical connector.

  8. Disconnect the touchscreen electrical connector, and then remove the touchscreen and center display housing from the vehicle.

  9. Remove the center display housing from the touchscreen.
