DTC Troubleshooting

DTC P1824 TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
Was "CVT System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to CVT SYSTEM CHECK .
ROM communication circuit check 
  1. Turn off ignition switch and disconnect TCM and solenoid connectors.
  2. Check for proper terminal connection to TCM and solenoid connectors.
  3. If connections are OK, check that ROM signal circuits (A1 - A3) are as follows:
    • Wiring harness resistance of ROM signal circuit is less than 1 Ω.
    • Insulation resistance of ROM signal circuit is infinity between solenoid connector and vehicle body ground.
    • Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between ROM signal circuit terminal and each terminal at solenoid connector.
    • Circuit voltage of ROM signal circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch in ON position.

Are they in good condition? 
Go to Step 3. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
DTC recheck 
  1. Perform TCM LEARNING CONTROL INITIALIZATION .
  2. Clear DTC. See DTC Clearance .
  3. Turn ignition switch to OFF position
  4. Perform DTC confirmation procedure, and check DTC.

Is DTC P1824 or other DTC still detected? 
DTC P1824: Substitute a known-good ROM (valve body assembly) and recheck DTC. Other than DTC P1824: Go to troubleshooting for applicable DTC. End.
