Circuit/System Testing
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2007 Suzuki XL7. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Ignition OFF, remove the inflatable restraint steering wheel module. Refer to Inflatable Restraint Steering Wheel Module Replacement .
- Disconnect the harness connector at the steering wheel controls switch - left.
- Cruise switch ON, test for less than infinite resistance between the steering wheel control supply voltage terminal 1 and the cruise control indicator dimming signal circuit terminal 9 at the terminals of the steering wheel controls switch - left.
- If the resistance measured is infinite, replace the steering wheel controls switch - left.
- Igniting OFF, verify that a test lamp illuminates between B+ and the cruise control indicator dimming signal circuit terminal 9.
- If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the cruise control indicator dimming signal circuit for an open/high resistance.
- If all circuits test normal, replace the BCM.
