Installation Procedure

  1. Position the steering gear inlet hose to the vehicle.

    CAUTION:

    Refer to FASTENER NOTICE .

    NOTE:

    Hand tighten the power steering gear inlet hose fittings before finalizing the torques.

  2. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) to the steering gear.

    Tightening torque 

    Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

  3. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting (1) to the power steering pump.

    Tightening torque 

    Tighten the fitting to 25 N.m (18 lb ft). 

  4. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  5. Install the front tire/wheel assemblies. Refer to INSTALLATION PROCEDURE .
  6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to POWER STEERING SYSTEM BLEEDING .
