EVAP leak detection pump operation check
- Check operating sound of EVAP leak detection pump referring to "EVAP Leak Detection Pump Circuit Check" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE AND ITS CIRCUIT INSPECTION
.
Is operating sound heard? |
Go to Step 4. |
Go to Step 3. |

Wire harness check
- Disconnect connectors from EVAP leak check module and ECM with ignition switch turned OFF.
- Check for proper terminal connection to EVAP leak check module and ECM connectors.
- If connections are OK, check that EVAP leak detection pump circuit is as follows.
- Wiring harness resistance of each EVAP leak detection pump control circuit and ground circuit is less than 3 Ω
- Insulation resistance of EVAP leak detection pump control circuit is infinity between EVAP leak check module connector and vehicle body ground
- Insulation resistance of wire harness is infinity between EVAP leak detection pump control terminal and each other terminal at EVAP leak check module connector.
- Circuit voltage of EVAP leak detection pump control circuit is 0 - 1 V with ignition switch turned ON
Are they in good condition? |
Go to Step 4. |
Control and ground circuits of EVAP leak detection pump are open, short and/or high resistance. |

EVAP leak detection pump check
- Check EVAP leak detection pump for operation referring to "EVAP Leak Detection Pump Check" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE AND ITS CIRCUIT INSPECTION
.
Is it in good condition? |
Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. |
Replace EVAP leak check module. |
