DTC Troubleshooting

DTC TROUBLESHOOTING CHART

Step Action YES NO
1  Was "Engine and Emission Control System Check" performed?  Go to Step 2. Go to ENGINE AND EMISSION CONTROL SYSTEM CHECK .
2  Barometric pressure (EVAP leak check pressure) sensor check 
  1. Check EVAP leak check pressure sensor for performance referring to "EVAP Leak Check Pressure Sensor (combine with BARO sensor) Inspection" under EVAP LEAK CHECK MODULE INSPECTION .

Are they in good condition? 		 Go to Step 3. Replace EVAP leak check module.
3  EVAP system check 
  1. Check the following parts for clogged.
    • EVAP canister
    • EVAP canister air suction filter
    • EVAP passage
    • EVAP vent valve in EVAP leak check module

Are they in good condition? 		 Go to Step 4. Clean, repair or replace.
4  Wire harness check 
  1. Check EVAP leak check pressure circuit referring to step 3 of DTC P2228 / P2229: BAROMETRIC PRESSURE CIRCUIT LOW / HIGH (EVAP LEAK CHECK MODEL) .

Is it in good condition? 		 Substitute a known-good ECM and recheck. Repair or replace defective wire harness.
