Fail-Safe Table

When any of the following DTCs is detected, ECM enters fail-safe mode as long as malfunction continues to exist but that mode is canceled when ECM detects normal condition after that.

P0102 Mass air flow circuit low input
  • ECM controls injector drive time (fuel injection volume) according to throttle valve opening (closed throttle position or not).
  • ECM stops EGR control.
P0103 Mass air flow circuit high input
P0112 Intake air temperature circuit low input
  • ECM controls actuators assuming that intake air temperature is 40°C (104°F).
  • ECM stops EGR control.
P0113 Intake air temperature circuit high input
P0117 Engine coolant temperature circuit low input
  • ECM controls actuators assuming that engine coolant temperature is 80°C (176°F).
  • ECM stops EGR control.
  • ECM operates radiator fan.
P0118 Engine coolant temperature circuit high input
P0122 Throttle position sensor circuit low input
  • ECM controls actuators assuming that throttle opening is about 12°.
  • ECM stops EGR control.
P0123 Throttle position sensor circuit high input
P0500 Vehicle speed sensor ECM controls actuators assuming vehicle speed is 10 km/h (6 mile/h).
