Throttle Position Sensor
The Throttle Position (TP) sensor is connected to the throttle valve, and detects throttle valve opening. ECM supplies throttle position sensor with a 5-volt reference signal. Sensor contains a potentiometer (variable resistor) that returns a varying voltage back to ECM based on throttle position. ECM uses these signals to help determine control of air/fuel ratio during acceleration, deceleration and idle.
