Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If DTC P0112 is set, go to next step. If DTC P0112 is not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Connect scan tool. Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select IAT parameter. If scan tool displays 302°F (150°C), go to next step. If scan tool does not display 302°F (150°C), problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  3. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAT sensor connector. If scan tool display drops to -40°F (-40°C), replace IAT sensor. If scan tool display does not drop to -40°F (-40°C), check for short to ground in Light Blue wire between PCM 26-pin connector C51-3 terminal No. 1 and IAT sensor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary. If wire is okay, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST .
