Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If DTC P0101 is set, go to next step. If DTC P0101 is not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Check MAF sensor and air intake system for blockage. Check for intake system leaks. Repair as necessary. If air intake system is okay, turn ignition off. Connect scan tool. Start engine and allow it to reach normal operating temperature. Using scan tool, read MAF sensor values at idle and at 2500 RPM. See MAF SENSOR STANDARD VALUES  table. If MAF sensor values are not as specified, replace MAF sensor and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If MAF sensor values are as specified, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
