Diagnosis & Repair Procedure

  1. Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1450)  or DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1451)  . If DTC P1451 is set, go to next step. If DTC P1450 is set, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1450) . If DTCs P1450 and P1451 are not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Inspect MAP sensor operation. See DTC P1408: MANIFOLD ABSOLUTE PRESSURE (MAP) SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION . Repair or replace as necessary. If MAP sensor operation is as specified, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST (FOR DTC P1451) .
