Diagnosis & Repair Procedure
- Perform DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If DTC P01500 is set, go to next step. If DTC P1500 is not set, problem is intermittent. System is okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
- Measure voltage (backprobe) between ground and PCM 16-pin connector C22 terminal No. 16 (Black/Yellow wire). See Figure. Reading should be 6-10 volts while engine is cranking and zero volts after engine starts. If readings are not as specified, repair open in circuit between ignition switch and PCM 16-pin connector C22 terminal No. 16 (Black/Yellow wire). See WIRING DIAGRAMS article. If readings are as specified, go to next step.
- Turn ignition off. Disconnect PCM 16-pin connector C22. Check for poor terminal contact at PCM 16-pin connector C22. If poor terminal contact is found, repair as necessary and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST . If terminal contact is okay, problem is probably intermittent. System may be okay at this time. See TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article. If intermittent problem is not found, replace PCM and go to DTC CONFIRMATION TEST .
