DTC Confirmation Test

NOTE: Do not preform this procedure under high-load, high engine speed, rapid acceleration or rapid deceleration.

Turn ignition off, connect scan tool and turn ignition on. Clear DTCs. See CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODES  under SELF-DIAGNOSTIC SYSTEM. Ensure fuel tank is 1/4 to 3/4 full, vehicle is at an altitude of 8000 feet or below, barometric pressure is 75 kPa or more, ambient temperature is 14°F (-10°C) or more, and intake air temperature is 158°F (70°C) or less. Drive vehicle at speeds of about 40 MPH. Reduce vehicle speed to about 30 MPH and increase to about 40 MPH within about one minute. Repeat accelerating and decelerating procedure for 29 minutes. Vehicle should not be stopped for longer then one minute during the procedure. Stop vehicle. With ignition on, check for DTC P0116.
