DTC P0112: Intake Air Temperature (IAT) Circuit Low Input

  1. Connect scan tool to Data Link Connector (DLC). Turn ignition on. Select IAT parameter. If display reads 401°F (205°F) on 1.8L Esteem, or 246°F (119°C) for all others, go to next step. If display reading is not 401°F (205°F) on 1.8L Esteem, or 246°F (119°C) for all others, check for an intermittent problem. Go to INTERMITTENTS in TROUBLE SHOOTING - NO CODES article.
  2. Turn ignition off. Disconnect IAT sensor harness connector located next to air cleaner housing. Turn ignition on. If display reading on scan tool changes to -40°F (-40°C), replace IAT sensor. If display reading is not -40°F (-40°C), check Gray/Red wire (Esteem) or Gray wire (Swift) for short to ground. If wiring is okay, replace PCM. Retest system.
