Esteem & Swift

  1. Using a mechanic's stethoscope, check each fuel injector for operating "clicking" sound as engine is cranked. If all 4 fuel injectors made operating sound, fuel injector circuit is okay. If no injectors made operating sound, go to next step. If only some fuel injectors made operating sound, check for faulty injector harness, faulty injectors or poor connections. If injector harness, injectors and connections are okay, replace PCM and retest system.
  2. Using DVOM, check fuel injector power circuit for an open or short. See appropriate wiring diagram in WIRING DIAGRAMS article. Repair as necessary. If power circuit is okay, check resistance of each fuel injector. See SPECIFICATIONS article for specifications. Repair as necessary. If resistance is okay, replace PCM and retest system.
