Throttle Body (TBI): Installation

  1. Install NEW throttle body base gasket on intake manifold. Install throttle body. Tighten throttle body mounting bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  2. Install accelerator cable. Connect fuel, water and vacuum hoses to throttle body. Reconnect all electrical connectors. To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Refill cooling system. Connect negative battery cable.
  3. Turn ignition on, engine off. This will activate fuel pump. Check for fuel leaks. Adjust accelerator cable, A/T kickdown cable (if equipped) and throttle position sensor. See ADJUSTMENTS article.
