Vehicle Speed Sensor

  1. Remove combination meter from instrument panel. Using ohmmeter, check continuity between ground screw and VSS screw while rotating speedometer cable shaft with a screwdriver. SeeFig 1 -Fig 2 .
  2. Ohmmeter reading should fluctuate from no continuity to continuity 4 times per revolution of speedometer cable shaft. Replace vehicle speed sensor if defective.
