Disassembly & Reassembly

  1. Remove fuel injector from throttle body. See procedures under INJECTOR  . Remove Throttle Position (TP) sensor, fuel pressure regulator and Idle Air Control (IAC) valve from throttle body. See Fig 1 . Remove attaching screws, and separate upper and lower bodies.
  2. DO NOT  soak any electrical device or air valve in solvent or other cleaner. DO NOT  put drills or wires into passages. Clean upper and lower passages with compressed air only. Reassemble components with NEW gaskets and "O" rings.
  3. Assemble upper and lower bodies with NEW gasket. Install and tighten upper-to-lower body attaching screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
  4. Install IAC valve with NEW gasket. Tighten IAC mounting screws to specification. Install fuel pressure regulator with NEW "O" ring. Tighten fuel pressure regulator mounting screws to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS  .
