Injector (TBI): Installation

  1. Apply thin coat of fuel to new injector "O" rings. Install "O" rings on injector. Insert injector into throttle body. Carefully install wiring harness connector to injector.
  2. Apply thread locking compound to injector cover mounting screws and install injector cover. Tighten injector cover screws to 17 INCH lbs. (1.9 N.m). Connect fuel feed pipe with new "O" ring. Tighten fuel feed pipe bolts to 72-102 INCH lbs. (8.0-11.9 N.m). Connect negative battery cable. Check for fuel leaks.
  3. With fuel pump relay connected, install a jumper wire between fuel pump relay Pink/Black and Black/White wires. Fuel pump relay is located on right kick panel, above ECM. See Figure .
  4. Turn ignition on (engine off) to activate fuel pump.
