Steering system uses steel balls in a recirculating pattern to transfer rotary motion of steering shaft into a linear motion in the rack gear. Rack gear, in turn, moves the sector gear. The pitman arm is solidly attached to sector gear and, through the tie rods, allows the vehicle to turn.
