TPS Inspection

  1. Disconnect negative battery cable and TPS connector. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between upper and lower terminals. See the THROTTLE POSITION SENSOR (TPS) RESISTANCE  table.
  2. To move throttle valve to idle position, apply vacuum to throttle opener. If TPS sensor cannot be adjusted to obtain the correct values at idle, replace TPS sensor.
