Remove, Overhaul & Install: Remove/Install/Overhaul: Injectors: Removal

  1. Relieve fuel system pressure, remove fuel filler cap to release fuel vapor pressure in tank. Disconnect coupler "A" from control relay. See Fig 1 . Start engine. Let engine run until it runs out of fuel.

  2. To remove injector from throttle body, remove air intake case from top of throttle body. Disconnect fuel feed pipe from throttle body. Remove 2 mounting screws and lift off injector cover.
    WARNING: To prevent personal injury and damage to injector, DO NOT  use more than about 70 psi to remove injector.
  3. Unplug injector harness. See Fig 2 . Slide injector grommet from throttle body. Place shop towel over injector. Apply compressed air (less than 70 psi) into fuel inlet port of throttle body to remove injector. DO NOT  soak injector in any type of solvent or cleaner.
