Starter - Direct Drive: Overhaul: Inspection: Pinion

  1. Inspect pinion for wear or damage. Ensure that clutch locks-up when turned in the direction of drive and rotates easily and smoothly in the reverse direction. Replace as necessary.
  2. Check teeth for wear or damage. Check pinion for smooth movement. Replace as necessary.
