Roll Connector: Installation

CAUTION: If the steering wheel and the sensor assembly VDC steering (steering roll connector) are removed, perform the following operations.

Align the center position of the steering roll connector.
Neutral position setting of the sensor assembly VDC steering.

Install the steering roll connector.

Before attaching a new steering roll connector, apply a thin coat of grease.

NOTE: If the steering roll connector is reused, check the grease amount.
If grease is insufficient, additionally apply it.

Preparation items:

Grease: An item contained in the steering roll connector, KYODO YUSHI Multemp L or equivalent

When reusing the steering roll connector, align the neutral position. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>ROLL CONNECTOR>ADJUSTMENT .
Align the position of the protrusion and install the sensor assembly VDC steering to the steering roll connector.
CAUTION: Do not rotate the steering angle sensor protrusion.

Install the steering roll connector assembly.
NOTE: Before attaching a new steering roll connector, confirm that the position is in neutral, and snap off the neutral pin.
Connect the airbag connector. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>AIRBAG CONNECTOR>PROCEDURE>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE (STEERING ROLL CONNECTOR) .
Install the column cover assembly.
Install the steering wheel assembly. Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>STEERING WHEEL>INSTALLATION .
Install the driver's airbag module. Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>DRIVER'S AIRBAG MODULE>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
Perform the neutral position setting of the sensor assembly VDC steering. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM & H/U)>ADJUSTMENT>VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE .
