Universal Joint: Removal

  1. Adjust the tilt position of the steering column to the neutral position.
    NOTE: Place the tilt lever to the lock position after the steering column is adjusted.
  2. Remove the front wheel LH. Ref. to WHEEL AND TIRE SYSTEM>TIRE AND WHEEL>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the steering assembly universal joint.
    1. Place an alignment mark between the steering column assembly and steering assembly universal joint.
    2. Turn the steering wheel to any position to make work easier, and remove the bolt of the upper side of the steering assembly universal joint.

    3. Turn the steering wheel to any position to make work easier, and remove the bolt of the lower side of the steering assembly universal joint.

    4. Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
    5. Prevent the steering wheel from turning using the seat belt.

    6. Remove the steering assembly universal joint.
      CAUTION: Do not remove the guide camera.
