Steering Wheel: Disassembly

NOTE: This procedure shows the model with steering heater.
  1. Remove the cover spoke.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Release the claw.
    3. Remove the cover spoke.

  2. Remove the cover steering wheel LWR.
    CAUTION: Carefully remove the cover steering wheel LWR. Do not pull with excessive force. Otherwise, heat wire between cover steering wheel LWR and steering wheel may be damaged. (Model with steering heater)
    1. Remove the screws on the back of the steering wheel.
      • Model without paddle shift switch

    2. Remove the connector clip. (Model with steering heater)
    3. Disconnect connectors. (Model with steering heater)

    4. Remove the screws.
    5. Release the claw.
    6. Remove the cover steering wheel LWR.
      NOTE: Remove the heater elements RH and LH secured with double-sided tape from the cover steering wheel LWR. (Model with steering heater)

  3. Remove the steering heater switch. (Model with steering heater)
    1. Disconnect the connector.
    2. Release the claw.
    3. Remove the steering heater switch.

  4. Remove the adapter cord. (Model with steering heater)

  5. Remove the steering control module. (Model with steering heater)
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Remove the steering control module.

  6. Remove the satellite switch assembly.
    1. Remove the screws.
    2. Release the claw.
    3. Remove the satellite switch assembly.
      NOTE: It may be difficult to remove the satellite switch assembly. In this case, use a tool such as a hexagon wrench to access the boss hole (a) to push it out.
