DTC B140A: Immobilizer Sub Control Module Non-Volatile Memory

Diagnosis start condition: 

DTC detecting condition: 

Defective central gateway Control Module

Trouble symptom: 

CAUTION: When the central gateway Control Module is replaced, registration of the immobilizer system is required. For details, refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
  1. REGISTRATION OF CENTRAL Gateway Control Module  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Body Control] and [Central Gateway]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY .
      • Body Control
      • Central Gateway
    3. Perform the central gateway Control Module registration. Refer to the "REGISTRATION MANUAL FOR IMMOBILIZER".
    4. Read the DTC of [Body Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Is DTC B140A displayed? (Current code)

    Yes:  Replace the central gateway Control Module. Ref. to BODY CONTROL/COMMUNICATION SYSTEM>CENTRAL GATEWAY CONTROL MODULE .

    No:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
