Transmission Control Module (TCM): Removal

CAUTION:

When replacing the TCM, be sure to perform [Start count reading ECU to SSM] before operation and perform [Start count writing SSM to ECU] after operation. Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
When [Start count reading ECU to SSM] cannot be performed due to TCM malfunction, be sure to replace the starter and fuel pump relay at the same time.
Starter:

Ref. to STARTING/CHARGING SYSTEMS (H4DO)>STARTER .

Fuel pump relay:

Ref. to WIRING SYSTEM>FUSE AND RELAY>LOCATION .

NOTE:

Components: Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>TRANSMISSION CONTROL MODULE .
When replacing the TCM, be sure to perform [Save settings] for the customizing information before operation and perform [Read settings] after operation .
Each item can be selected from [Transmission].

Ref. to AUTO START STOP (DIAGNOSTICS)>CUSTOMIZE>LIST .

Operation:

Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CUSTOMIZE>OPERATION .

Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .

Remove the air intake boot.

Loosen the clamp.

Remove the air intake boot, and place it aside so that it does not interfere with the work.

CAUTION: Be careful not to pull out the PCV hose.

Disconnect the ground cord.

Remove the pitching stopper. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>TRANSMISSION MOUNTING SYSTEM>REMOVAL>PITCHING STOPPER .
Remove the transmission case cover (front).

Move the lock lever in the arrow direction while pressing the lock button (A), and disconnect the connector.
