Universal Joint: Removal

NOTE: Components: Ref. to POWER ASSISTED SYSTEM (POWER STEERING)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>STEERING GEARBOX .
  1. Adjust the tilt position of the steering column to the neutral position.
    NOTE: Place the tilt lever to the lock position after the steering column is adjusted.
  2. Remove the front wheel LH. Ref. to WHEEL AND TIRE SYSTEM>TIRE AND WHEEL>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the universal joint assembly steering.
    1. Place an alignment mark between the column assembly steering and universal joint assembly steering.
    2. Turn the steering wheel to any position to make work easier, and remove the bolt of the upper side of the universal joint assembly steering.

    3. Turn the steering wheel to any position to make work easier, and remove the bolt of the lower side of the universal joint assembly steering.

    4. Set the steering wheel to the straight-ahead position.
    5. Prevent the steering wheel from turning using the seat belt.

    6. Remove the universal joint assembly steering.
      CAUTION: Do not remove the guide camera.
