Thermo Control Valve Assembly: Removal
NOTE:
- Components: Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM .
- Thermo control valve assembly is installed only on 2.5 L model.
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Open the fuel filler lid and remove the fuel filler cap.NOTE: This operation is required to release the inner pressure of the fuel tank.
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Remove the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE>REMOVAL>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the bolts securing the engine ground and harness case.
- Remove the clip securing the engine wiring harness.
- Disconnect the connector.
- Remove the engine wiring harness stay.NOTE: When it is difficult to remove the bolt, use a crowfoot wrench.
- When thermo control valve assembly is replaced
- When thermo control valve assembly is not replaced
- Remove the bolts securing the thermo control valve assembly.
- Remove the thermo control valve assembly and each hose as a single unit.CAUTION: Water hoses should not be disconnected unless the thermo control valve assembly is replaced. This may cause damage to the thermo control valve assembly.
(A) Water hose (B) Water hose (C) Water hose (D) Preheater hose - Remove the gasket from the thermo control valve assembly.
- Remove each hose from the thermo control valve assembly.NOTE:
- Perform this procedure only when required.
- To avoid excessive load to the thermo control valve assembly during removal, cut through the hoses.
