Extension Case Oil Seal: Replacement

Release the parking brake.
Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N range". Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
Remove the propeller shaft. Ref. to PROPELLER SHAFT/DRIVE SHAFT/AXLE>PROPELLER SHAFT>REMOVAL .
Using the ST, remove the extension case oil seal.
Preparation tool:

ST: PULLER ASSY (398527700)

Using the ST, install a new extension case oil seal.
CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the extension case oil seal lip.

NOTE: Apply ATF to the extension case oil seal lip and peripheral surface.

Preparation tool:

ST: TRANSMISSION OIL PLUG (09325-40010)

Insertion depth from the end surface of the extension case:

5.4 - 5.8 mm (0.21 - 0.23 in)

Install the propeller shaft. Ref. to PROPELLER SHAFT/DRIVE SHAFT/AXLE>PROPELLER SHAFT>INSTALLATION .
Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "P range". Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>INSTALLATION .
Apply the parking brake.
Adjust the ATF level. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION FLUID>INSPECTION>ADJUST ATF LEVEL .
