DTC B225B: Drive Mode Select (EGI Data Mismatch)

DTC detecting condition  :

Detected when the following conditions 1 and 2 are met:

  1. When the SI-DRIVE/Drive mode select function is used, the mode change request value of the cockpit control module does not match the response value from the engine (EGI).
  2. SI-DRIVE/Drive mode select has not failed.

Trouble symptom  :

The SI-DRIVE/Drive mode select function is not available.

CAUTION: Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description"  . Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  1. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Cockpit Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY .
    2. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
    3. Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Is DTC B225B displayed? (Current code)

    Yes:  Go to  2.

    No:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
  2. CHECK ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEM  .

    Perform the basic diagnosis for engine control system. Ref. to ENGINE (DIAGNOSTICS) (H4DOTC)>BASIC DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE .

    Is the check result OK?

    Yes:  Go to  3.

    No:  Follow the diagnosis instructions for engine control system.

  3. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Cockpit Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY .
    2. Turn the ignition switch OFF → ON.
    3. Read the DTC of [Cockpit Control] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to COCKPIT CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) .

    Is DTC B225B displayed? (Current code)

    Yes:  Replace the cockpit control module. Ref. to ENTERTAINMENT & MONITORING>COCKPIT DISPLAY .

    No:  Even if DTC is displayed, the circuit has returned to a normal condition at this time. Reproduce the failure, and then perform the diagnosis again.

    NOTE: In this case, temporary poor contact of connector, temporary open or short circuit of harness may be the cause.
