MT Gear Shift Cable: Removal
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>FRONT EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear exhaust pipe and center exhaust cover. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO (EXCEPT FOR HEV))>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
- Remove the cable clamp.
(A) Cable clamp - Remove the dust cover.
(A) Dust cover - Remove the snap pin and washer.
(A) Snap pin (B) Washer - Remove the bolts holding the shift bracket.
(A) Shift bracket - Remove the shift bracket together with the MT gear shift cable.CAUTION: Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).
(A) MT gear shift cable (B) Shift bracket - Remove the cable cover plate.
- Disconnect the MT gear shift cable.CAUTION:
- Be careful not to deform the cable inner.
- Do not apply excessive load while holding the part (a).
NOTE: Pull out down the MT gear shift cable to spread the spring.(A) MT gear shift cable - Remove the clamp.
(A) Clamp (B) MT gear shift cable - Pull out the MT gear shift cable.CAUTION:
- Do not bend MT gear shift cable at a sharp angle.
- Do not twist the cable inner excessively.
