Thermo Control Valve Assembly: Removal
- Release the fuel pressure. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>FUEL>PROCEDURE>RELEASING OF FUEL PRESSURE .
- Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
- Drain engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
- Remove the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE>REMOVAL>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE ASSEMBLY .
- Remove the bolt securing the engine ground and the harness case and remove the clip (A) and clip (B).
- Remove the connector (A) and connector (B).
- Remove the engine wiring harness stay.NOTE: When it is difficult to remove the bolt, use a crowfoot wrench.
- When thermo control valve assembly is replaced
- Remove the bolts securing the thermo control valve assembly.
- Disconnect the water hose (A), water hose (B), water hose (C) and preheater hose (D) and remove the thermo control valve assembly.
- When thermo control valve assembly is not replaced
- Remove the bolts securing the thermo control valve assembly.
- Disconnect the water hose (A), water hose (B) and water hose (C), and remove them as an assembly.CAUTION: Water hoses should not be disconnected unless the thermo control valve assembly is replaced. This may cause damage to the thermo control valve assembly.
- Disconnect the water hose (A), water hose (B), water hose (C) and preheater hose (D) from the thermo control valve assembly.
NOTE:- Perform this procedure only when required.
- To avoid excessive load to the thermo control valve assembly during removal, cut through the hoses.
