No. 1 Brake Cylinder: Installation
- Install the No. 1 brake cylinder and No. 1 brake piston return spring.NOTE: Make sure to install the No. 1 brake cylinder and brake piston return spring in the right direction.
(A) No. 1 brake piston return spring (B) No. 1 brake cylinder (C) Transmission case - Check that the oil pressure apply hole of the No. 1 brake cylinder matches the oil pressure apply hole (A) of the transmission case.
- Using the ST1, ST2, and ST3, compress the No. 1 brake piston return spring.CAUTION:
- Be careful so that the ST3 does not hit against the No. 1 brake cylinder.
- Be careful not to damage the transmission case with the ST1 and ST3.
Preparation tool:
ST1: OIL PUMP PULLER (09350-07020)
ST2: PIPE (09351-04010)
ST3: SPRING COMPRESSOR NO. 1 (09351-04020)
- Using a flat tip screwdriver wrapped with protection tape, install the snap ring.
- Check the operation of the No. 1 brake piston.
- Blow compressed air through the hole shown in the figure, and check that the No. 1 brake piston moves smoothly when the pressure is released.NOTE: Blow compressed air of 392 kPa (4.0 kgf/cm2 , 56.8 psi).
- Perform the following check if the piston does not move smoothly.
- Check that the oil pressure apply hole of the No. 1 brake cylinder matches the oil pressure apply hole of the transmission case.
- Check the installation of the No. 1 brake cylinder and the No. 1 brake piston.
- Blow compressed air through the hole shown in the figure, and check that the No. 1 brake piston moves smoothly when the pressure is released.
- Install the front planetary ring gear. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>FRONT PLANETARY RING GEAR>INSTALLATION .
