High-Pressure Fuel Pump

Install the fuel pump lifter to the high-pressure fuel pump case.

NOTE:

Apply engine oil to the side of the high-pressure fuel pump case and to the bottom surface of the fuel pump lifter.

When applying engine oil to the bottom surface of the fuel pump lifter, drop the oil onto the roller and cam lobe through the lifter hole.

After installing the fuel pump lifter, rotate the crankshaft in order to set the fuel pump lifter comes to the lowest position.

Set a new O-ring and seat the high-pressure fuel pump.
CAUTION: When installing the high-pressure fuel pump, press the range shown in the figure.

Using TORX PLUS° 40IP, install the high-pressure fuel pump.
Tightening torque:

21 N.m (2.1 kgf-m, 15.5 ft-lb)

Install the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE>INSTALLATION>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE .
Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE BOOT>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
