Check With SUBARU Select Monitor

CAUTION: Before performing the inspection, check the following settings.

Wiper deicer setting → "support". If "no support", set to "support" using customize setting.
Rear defogger operation mode setting → initial setting or customize setting.

CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT SETTING .
1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, display the following items in the [Data monitor] of [Body Control]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
  - [Wiper Deicer setting]
  - [Rr Defogger op. mode]
Do the vehicle equipment and the settings of body integrated unit match?

Yes : Go to 2.

No : Select the Customize item list, and match the settings of [wiperdeicer] and [Rr Defogger op. mode] to the actual vehicle equipment. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>CUSTOMIZE .

Check the operation of the wiper deicer. Go to 2.
CHECK OPERATION OF WIPER DEICER .
Check the operation with rear window defogger switch ON.
- When customize setting is "Continuous", it is normal if the operation continues even after the 15-minute operation.
- When customize setting is "Normal", it is normal if the operation lasts for 15 minutes and then turns OFF.
Does it operate properly?

Yes : Function is normal.

No : Go to 3.
CHECK BODY INTEGRATED UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL .
Display the [wiper deicer output] data using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

Does the display change between [OFF] ←→> [ON], when the rear window defogger switch is operated?

Yes : Check the harness and heat wire.

No : Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .
