Joint Pipe: Removal

CAUTION: Vehicle components are extremely hot after driving. Be wary of receiving burns from heated parts.
  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
  2. Lift up the vehicle.
  3. Remove the under cover. Refer to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>FRONT UNDER COVER>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the front oxygen (A/F) sensor. Refer to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (STI)>FRONT OXYGEN (A/F) SENSOR>REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the exhaust manifold RH lower cover.

  6. Remove the bolts and nuts which hold exhaust manifold RH onto joint pipe.

  7. Remove the center exhaust pipe. Refer to EXHAUST (STI)>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  8. Remove the turbocharger. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (STI)>TURBOCHARGER>REMOVAL .
  9. Take off the joint pipe in the upward direction.
