Center Differential: Removal

  1. Remove the manual transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL(6MT) (TY85)>MANUAL TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
  2. Prepare the transmission for overhaul. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL(6MT) (TY85)>PREPARATION FOR OVERHAUL .
  3. Remove the extension case. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL(6MT) (TY85)>EXTENSION CASE>REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the transfer driven gear. Refer to MANUAL TRANSMISSION AND DIFFERENTIAL(6MT) (TY85)>TRANSFER DRIVEN GEAR>REMOVAL .
  5. Disconnect the center differential connector.
  6. Remove the adjusting washer and center differential.

  7. Remove the needle bearing.
