DTC B1E01: Unregistered Of Authentication Unit

DTC detecting condition: 

The authentication key required for authentication communication has not been updated for the central gateway control module even once. (Not updated)

Trouble symptom: 

The engine, CVT, EPS, stereo camera, VDC and brake booster warning lights illuminate.

CAUTION:

Before performing diagnosis, refer to "CAUTION" in "General Description". Ref. to  CENTRAL GATEWAY (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION  

  1. CHECK DTC  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    2. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Central Gateway]. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY
    3. Read the DTC of [Central Gateway] using the Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to CENTRAL GATEWAY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 

    Is DTC B1E01 displayed? (Current code)

    Yes  : Go to  2.

    No  : Currently, it is normal.

  2. PERFORM MODULE REGISTRATION (UPDATE)  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform module registration (update). Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>UNIT REGISTRATION

    Is the module registration (update) completed successfully?

    Yes  : Module registration is completed successfully.

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, perform the clear memory of [Central Gateway] and finish the diagnosis. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>CLEAR MEMORY

    No  : Go to  3.

  3. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Connection with the SUBARU Server could not be confirmed.

    Yes  : Go to  4.

    No  : Go to  6.

  4. CHECK COMMUNICATION ENVIRONMENT  .

    Check that there is Internet connection.

    Is it connected to the Internet?

    Yes  : Go to  5.

    No  : Connect to the Internet and perform registration again.

  5. CHECK SUBARU SERVER  .

    Check the SUBARU server downtime.

    Is the SUBARU server running normally?

    Yes  : Perform registration again.

    No  : Perform registration again when the SUBARU server runs normally.

  6. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • The Diagnostic Server Connection Authentication Key is incorrect. Please enter again.

    Yes  : Enter the SUBARU server connection authentication key. Perform registration again after connecting to the SUBARU server.

    No  : Go to  7.

  7. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Server connection authentication failed. Please check the expiration date of License Activation. If it has expired, please apply for activation again. "LOG No":

    Yes  : Go to  8.

    No  : Go to  9.

  8. CHECK LICENSE EXPIRATION DATE  .

    Perform license activation on the license activation screen displayed when starting the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the license activated successfully?

    Yes  : Perform registration again.

    No  : Select [Option] → [Help] → [Version information] from the Main Menu of the Subaru Select Monitor and check the expiration date. If the license has expired, apply for Subaru Select Monitor license activation again. Perform registration again after license activation.

  9. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Server connection authentication failed. Check the diagnostic server connection authentication key. Please re-enter. "LOG No":

    Yes  : Go to  10.

    No  : Go to  11.

  10. CHECK SUBARU SERVER CONNECTION AUTHENTICATION KEY  .

    Check the SUBARU server connection authentication key obtained from SUBARU.

    Is the SUBARU server connection authentication key correct?

    Yes  : Enter the SUBARU server connection authentication key and perform registration.

    No  : Contact SUBARU to check if the SUBARU server connection authentication key is correct. Obtain a correct SUBARU server connection authentication key and perform registration again.

  11. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • The server connection authentication failed continuously. Please try again later. "LOG No":

    Yes  : The connection button was pressed repeatedly with a wrong SUBARU server connection authentication key. Use a correct SUBARU server connection authentication key to connect later.

    No  : Go to  12.

  12. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Server connection authentication failed. Can not communicate with the Server. Please check current environment and try again.

    Yes  : Go to  4.

    No  : Go to  13.

  13. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Battery voltage is low. Check the condition of the vehicle and try again. End processing.

    Yes  : Perform the diagnosis for LAN system Ref. to LAN SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>INSPECTION>INSPECTION WITHOUT USING CAN DIAGNOSTIC , and Go to  1.

    No  : Go to  14.

  14. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • The Ignition is OFF. After confirming that the Ignition is ON, please press the Rerun Button.
    • The Ignition is ON. After confirming that the Ignition is OFF, please press the Rerun Button.

    Yes  : Go to  15.

    No  : Go to  18.

  15. CHECK DATA MONITOR  .

    Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check the following items in the [Data Monitor] of [Central Gateway]. Ref. to CENTRAL GATEWAY (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR 

    • IGSW status

    Is the display as follows?

    • Ignition switch ON: [ON]
    • Ignition switch OFF: [OFF]

    Yes  : Turn the ignition switch to ON, press "Rerun" and Go to  18.

    If this error message is displayed again even the ignition switch is turned to ON, it is possible that there is abnormal switch input. Go to  16.

    No  : Go to  18.

  16. CHECK IGNITION POWER SUPPLY CIRCUIT  .
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Disconnect the connector from the central gateway control module.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    4. Measure the voltage between central gateway control module connector and chassis ground.

      Connector & terminal 

      (i88) No. 19 (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage 9 V or more?

    Yes  : Replace the central gateway control module, and Go to  1.

    No  : Go to  17.

  17. CHECK IG Relay OUTPUT  .

    Measure the voltage between F/B No. 15 fuse terminal and chassis ground. (When IG is ON)

    Connector & terminal 

    F/B No. 15 fuse terminal (+) - Chassis ground (-):

    Is the voltage 9 V or more?

    Yes  : Repair the harness between the central gateway control module and fuse.

    No  : Check the IG relay circuit.

  18. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Diagnostic Communication Error. End processing An Error occurred in the following ECUs.

    Yes  : Check the connection of the ECM displayed on the error screen and the data link connector, and Go to  1.

    If this error message is displayed again, replace all the ECMs displayed on the error screen, and Go to  1.

    No  : Go to  19.

  19. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message either one of the following?

    • Error occurred during Upload/Download. End processing Error code:
    • Timeout has occurred in Upload/Download. End processing.

    Yes  : Perform registration again later.

    No  : Go to  20.

  20. CHECK ERROR SCREEN  .

    Check the error message displayed on the Subaru Select Monitor.

    Is the error message as follows?

    • Failed to update MAC Key. End processing.

    Yes  : Check the connection of the ECM displayed on the error screen and the data link connector, and Go to  1.

    If this error message is displayed again, replace all the ECMs displayed on the error screen, and Go to  1.

    No  : Perform registration from the beginning.
