Propeller Shaft: Installation

  1. Apply CVTF to the oil seal lip and propeller shaft sleeve yoke.
  2. Insert the sleeve yoke into the transmission and attach center bearing bolt.
    CAUTION: Do not bend the joint of the propeller shaft more than required.

    Tightening torque: 

    52 N.m (5.3 kgf-m, 38.4 ft-lb)

  3. Align the alignment marks (A), and connect the propeller shaft and rear differential.

    Tightening torque: 

    31 N.m (3.2 kgf-m, 22.9 ft-lb)

  4. Install the rear exhaust pipe.

    H4DO model: 

    Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .

    H4DOTC model: 

    Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DOTC)>REAR EXHAUST PIPE>INSTALLATION .

  5. Shift the select lever to "P range".
  6. Apply the parking brake.
  7. Check the CVTF level.

    TR580 model: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>CVTF>INSPECTION .

    TR690 model: 

    Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR690)>CVTF>INSPECTION .
