Rear Seat: Assembly

CAUTION:
  • If the seating sensor mat is removed, replace the pad and frame assembly rear cushion and the seating sensor mat with new parts. If the seating sensor mat is reused, the detection may not operate properly.
  • Do not reuse the hog ring and hang wire.
  • Secure the hog ring using hog ring pliers.
  • Install the hog rings to the specified points securely and make sure that there is no wrinkle or twisting on the rear seat backrest cover and rear seat cushion cover.
  1. Assemble the seat surface and the seat pad in the same manner as the front seat. Ref. to SEATS>FRONT SEAT>ASSEMBLY .
    NOTE:
    • Do not contaminate or damage the seat surface and seat pad.
    • While installing the hog rings, prevent the seat surface from getting wrinkled.
    1. Install the hog rings, and assemble the seat surface and the seat pad.

    2. Install the hog rings on the back side of the rear seat cushion assembly.

  2. Install the lock assembly and lock assembly button.
    1. Install the wire remote.
      • Sedan model

      • OUTBACK model

    2. Install the lock assembly and lock assembly button.

      Tightening torque: 

      24.5 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.1 ft-lb)

  3. Install the cover backrest rear seat to the frame assembly rear backrest.
  4. For the backrest LH, install the hog ring, wire clamp and J-fastener.

  5. Install the bushing headrest and the bushing lock headrest.
    CAUTION: Pay attention to the orientation of the headrest bushing.

  6. Tighten the fastener on backside of the backrest assembly, and install the plastic fastener.
  7. Install the cover tether. (OUTBACK model)
  8. Install the belt guide. (OUTBACK model RH side)
  9. Install the armrest assembly. (RH side)

    Tightening torque: 

    Refer to "COMPONENT" of "General Description". Ref. to SEATS>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>REAR SEAT .

  10. Install the headrest assembly.
  11. Before installation, check the following items.
    • No break and fray on the seat surface.
  12. Install the rear seat. Ref. to SEATS>REAR SEAT>INSTALLATION .
